Artwork such as this life
size painting of
Josephine LaRoe is on display...
|
Josephine LaRoe was a member of a long-time Terrell
family whose life was cut short in her late teens in an automobile
accident. A popular member of the Terrell High School class of 1930,
she served on the yearbook staff and was president of the senior
class. She was very talented in ballet and had taken much training
in this art form.
-
The interesting life-size image here displayed was
a tribute to her young life and hung in her family's home until
her mother's death in 1955.
-
The portrait appears to be an oil-tinted
photograph on paper. Note the soft color tones and detailed
rendering of the image.
-
The display is bright, well-lit and quite a breathtaking life size
painting to behold.
